Nabila is a chef and entrepreneur born in Lebanon and based in Washington DC.
Growing up in Beirut, Nabila learned to cook from her own mother and grandmother. She held those recipes close as she fled her country during the Lebanese Civil War, moving to Egypt, California, and Saudi Arabia before settling in Washington DC. In her late 40s, armed with no experience cooking professionally, she took over a small storefront and turned it into a wonderfully successful catering business. This year she will celebrate 20 years of serving “Teta” Nabila’s much-loved Lebanese cuisine.
Today she continues to run her first business while partnering with Mike, one of her three sons, on a new one. Her vibrant hospitality, generous home cooking, and famous fatayer have arrived on Court Street, in Brooklyn
